Goffman's Social Interaction

Goffman analyzed various forms of social interaction from a theatrical perspective. According to him, people manage their image and show different traits depending on the situation or the person they are interacting with to achieve their goals. They make continuous efforts to create the image they want to present. Rifkin believed that the theatrical self is more evident in internet communication environments. Rifkin distinguished between 'surface acting,' which focuses on form, and 'deep acting,' which is more genuine.
