■ 동조 현상에 대한 이해

이 글은 동조 현상에 대해 설명하고 있다. 동조 현상은 집단이 구성원에게 가하는 압력에 의해 개인의 행동이나 태도가 변하는 것이며, 집단의 규범과 밀접한 관련이 있다. 동조 현상이 일어나는 원인 중 규범적 영향력은 개인이 집단에서 고립되지 않기 위해 집단의 규범을 따르는 것이며, 정보의 영향력은 개인이 판단하기 어려울 때 집단의 규범이나 의견을 정보로 여기고 따르는 것이다. 동조 현상은 순응, 동일시, 내면화로 나눌 수 있는데, 순응은 보상을 얻거나 벌을 피하기 위해  일시적으로 동조하는 것이고, 동일시는 집단의 특정 구성원과 비슷해지고 싶다는 욕구 때문에 일어나는 동조이며, 내면화는 집단의 규범을 자신의 내면에 완벽하게 수용한 것이다.

This article explains the phenomenon of conformity. Conformity is when individual behavior or attitudes change due to pressure from the group, closely related to the norms of the group. Among the causes of conformity, normative influence occurs when individuals follow group norms to avoid isolation within the group. Informational influence happens when individuals perceive group norms or opinions as information to follow when personal judgment is difficult. Conformity can be categorized into compliance, identification, and internalization. Compliance is temporarily conforming to gain rewards or avoid punishment. Identification occurs because individuals want to become similar to specific members of the group. Internalization is fully accepting the group's norms into one's own beliefs.
